Pen Designs

After deciding that we will definitely be purchasing promotional pens to give out to students, staff and visitors around the university, particularly on the open day on Saturday 19th March, I designed the artwork for the barrel of the pen, for 4 different colours. An orange pen, a white pen, a green pen or a blue pen. I designed the logo on only these 4 colours as they fit in best with our colour scheme.

I used this print area specification when I did the pen designs - to make sure it would fit on the pen barrel when printed.

Once I had created these designs I asked everyone in the group which colour they would like to vote for and these are the votes:

Orange: Beth, Selin, Martin, Daisy, Alanna, Cleo, Jamie-Lee, Mercedes

White: Feryal, Zoli

Green: Nadir

Blue: Itunu, Feryal, Daisy

As the majority of votes are with orange, this is the decided pen colour.

Graphic Design Team Meeting - 26/02/16

During today's class we each had individual team meetings. These are the things that each person will be working on for graphic design. We thought about everything which will need designing and split the tasks evenly between us. Throughout the process there will be more things which come up which may need to be adjusted or re-designed.

Today's Meeting Notes - 26/02/16

This a list of everything we discussed in our meeting today as a group. We have covered many important aspects today involving future progression and production.

Behind The Scenes - 26/02/16

These are photos I have taken of behind the scenes of our meeting in Friday 26th February. I also took a short video to show a glimpse of the atmosphere of our meeting.

Final Logo Designs

Logo 1

Logo 2

After trying this logo with many different fonts these were the favourite 2 fonts. Logo 1 is Caviar Dreams and Logo 2 is PT Mono. We also decided that we would like the second word 'Chip' to be all in capitals and the first word 'Project' to be in lowercase. This is the differentiate the words more as when they are all in lowercase or capitals it can come across looking like just one word.

We have chosen Logo 1 as our final logo as we all feel the font is very universal and will look good on all of our other Project Chip branding.

Logo With Different Fonts

After we chose this logo style as a group as our 'Project Chip' final logo design, I tried this same style out with a variety of different fonts to see which looked the best and to see what style of typography everyone in the group prefers the most - not only for this logo but for future design work on leaflets and posters etc.

Banner Idea 2

This is the second banner I designed, using 2 images fading in to one another. The left image represents the West side - with the dark colours - blues and a little bit of orange. The right image represents the East Side - with greens and yellows. I have merged these 2 images together to reinforce the idea that it is one country but the sides are split.

Banner Idea 1

This is the first banner for social media pages I have designed. I have used a futuristic background with similar colours to our theme, including our current favourite logo. This will be a banner for our Project Chip Facebook page and our Twitter page. I believe this design fits in very well with our colour scheme and general theme.

These are photos I took of behind the scenes of our meeting on Friday 5th February.

Names of Characters

This is a list of the names of our characters which we have decided on as a group.

Timeline: 12th Feb - 19th March

This is a timeline which we started to complete - listing week by week what we plan to have done by that date. By doing this we can get more organised and individuals will know what they have to achieve by particular dates.

How To Find Pantone Colours From An Image

This is a small guide I've put together to briefly explain how to find a pantone colour from any image. If we did need a pantone colour rather than a CMYK colour it is very easy to find a match.

Logo Ideas

These are some logos I have created on Adobe Illustrator for our Project - 'Project Chip'. (This will be the name of our project until we decide on another name). I have used the pantone colour versions of the colours found on Martin's colour palette - which is our general colour theme for the story.

The majority of the group like the top right logo so this is the logo which I will develop even further.
