This is another promo poster which I have designed. This particular poster is promoting the constant updates and releases every day from Sunday 24th - Friday 29th April. (Friday will be our last release). I have taken 2 images here from one of Adam's vlogs, and also Zara and Saul's vlog. I decided use these 2 images to really show the audience how we have created our characters as a 'vlogging' family - which definitely gets the message across via this poster. It also shows how these are the only members of the family left and a sneak preview of the videos to come without giving anything away. This will be uploaded to all of our social media accounts.
These are the photos which I have taken of today's meeting - behind the scenes. This was our last meeting before our campaign deadline and it was extremely positive and successful.
This is another promo poster which I have designed which will promote our third episode being released tomorrow. I have taken images from the finished motion graphic comic ready for release to create this poster. I took the image of the helicopter and blue sky for the background and then took away the background of the image of Adam and changed the opacity so that his face blends in with the background. This fits perfectly with the white light which shines down from the helicopter and gives the audience the idea that the helicopter is in fact looking for Adam without actually confirming this. By creating this, it will make the audience even more excited to watch this episode to see what happens.
This is the second promo poster which I have created to promote and advertise the second release of Part 2 of our story. This will go on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram page. It gives our audience a preview of what the video may contain but doesn't give anything away. This keeps our audience interested and looking forward to the next episode.
This is a promo poster which I have created to be uploaded to each of our social media pages - Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This will be uploaded today, as the first part of our story is being released tomorrow, and this poster gives a very sneak preview of one of the shots in the first video as well as lets our audience know there is one day until our story begins.
I have adapted our Project Chip logo to black and white PNG files as well as our general blue & orange logo. This is so that anybody can use these for any future design or video editing work where it will look better in black or white. I will be using both of these versions in promo posters I will be designing.
This week we decided to have our final posters printed ready for our release next week of the beginning of our story. After all the designs were completed by Cleo she sent them to me - print ready - for myself to have them printed. I had our posters printed on Tuesday so they were all ready for me to bring in to uni today to show the whole group at our meeting. I had these posters printed on 350gsm DCP which is a very smooth paper, as well as nice and thick to stop them from ripping or tearing. I also had them gloss laminated to give them a shiny and glossy finish - making them look extremely professional. Today a few of us walked around the whole of the Stockwell Street building and stuck our posters up on every floor - from the basement all the way up to the 3rd floor. There were 6 designs printed in total and 7 copies of each style meaning we had 42 posters to stick all around the university. The above photos show some examples of after we had stuck the posters up. This is to show what they looked like once printed.
This is the link to my YouTube Channel where I uploaded my 6 videos, which made it easier for me to link them to my blog. However it may be easier to watch them directly from YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFRw4FnGvxyxcYeewND2TVQ
After we had finished filming everything that we needed to with our actors for our story, it was time to begin the post production process. As Cristina is head of the editing team she allocated who would be editing what. I was allocated to edit both of Adam's vlogs - also which I filmed, which meant I was already very familiar with the scene and how we wanted that shot to look, which was perfect for me.
These are some screen shots of whilst I was editing the footage. I lip synced the sound files with the video files and took the sound off of the original footage.
I then added a sound for the camera clicking on and off when pressed by Adam. I confirmed with Nadir who is in charge of sound that this sound was suitable.
After completing this edit of the original footage and the sound I decided to add some effects to the video.
Firstly I added a camcorder effect which adds a frame and symbols to the image - this is so it looks like it was not filmed on a professional camera, just a camcorder or digital camera Adam has used for his vlog. I chose to have the recording red dot flashing as the camera would have obviously been recording at the time and this makes it more believable to be a vlog.
I also changed the battery level so it was not full up, as after all the time he is away from home and the 5 day struggle etc it is unlikely his camera would still have a full charge. Therefore I did this to make it look more realistic for the audience.
After this I then added a film grain to the image. This dulls down the tone of the footage and gives it a browny colour - which it perfect for this particular scene. It also adds a grain which makes the quality look slightly worse - which is to be expected from Adam's surroundings as well as a lower budget camera or phone is he likely to be using to film this.
I did with this with both the videos as they are at the same location and therefore shows consistency when they are released. Here are the final videos:
These are the notes I have taken from today's group meeting in class. As it was our first meeting back after no class for 2 weeks during Easter Break it was a good opportunity for everyone to catch up and let the group know where they are at with their work.
